Our Leadership

Meet our core leadership team

Michael Storm

Founder and Owner
Michael Storm, DNAP, CRNA
Michael graduated from anesthesia school in 2005 and immediately joined the staff at a level 1 trauma center in Columbia, SC.

In 2006 he and his two study mates from anesthesia school started a teaching business, Nurse Anesthesia Review Course 4U, because they felt there was a need for more review courses than was available at that time. In 2013 Michael started Storm Anesthesia on the ashes of NARC 4U to continue his passion for teaching and writing.
In 2020 Michael decided to extend his writing and teaching skills to CRNAs in need for continuing education, and in 2021 he launched recertCRNA with the goal of becoming the premier continuing education website for CRNAs.

When you will not find Michael in front of his computer he can often be found sailing on Lake Murray with his wonderful wife Annette. His love of the outdoors also brings him to the ski-slopes in the Rockies or in Europe. Michael has been a professional fully certified alpine ski instructor for almost 30 years and taught in Vail, CO, Livigno (Italy), Avoriaz (France), and Hemsedal (Norway). One day he and Annette would like to get back into playing golf, which before anesthesia was a major passion of both Annette and Michael.

Annette N Storm

Instructor and Marketing
Annette N Storm, MNA, CRNA
Annette has been a CRNA for 9 years and has been teaching for Storm Anesthesia since 2013 when the company launched. Annette's expertise is within cardiac and electrophysiology.

Annette became an RN in Denmark in 1987 and in 1990 decided to explore nursing in the US. She convinced her boyfriend, Michael, to come along, so they would not one day be sitting in a nursing home rocking chair and wonder what if?

Annette is a very strong patient advocate and did not see herself become a CRNA when Michael decided to go back to school. No, she liked her bedside patients. Well, the best plan sometimes changes and Annette obtained her BSN in 2008 and became a CRNA in 2012. And not just graduated, but graduated with the program's highest honor, the Agatha Hodgins Award for Clinical and Academic Excellence. So much for not becoming a CRNA!

Annette enjoys her garden, although, she can often be seen sailing on Lake Murray, skiing in the Alps with family (she is an alpine ski instructor), hiking in the mountains, or just laying on the beach.
Annette enjoys the outdoors!
Our teachers

Meet our valuable instructors

All of our instructors are highly qualified professionals, all CRNAS, and widely acknowledged in their field.
Michelle Henry, MNA, CRNA
Although originally from outside of Boston; I have been a transplanted southerner since I moved to South Carolina to attend undergrad and fell in love with the warm weather and amazing people.

I graduated with my Masters in 2006 from the University of South Carolina; and started working at Palmetto Health Richland, now Prisma, in Columbia SC. I have been taking call from day 1 at the level 1 trauma center and trauma and OB are my two favorite kinds of cases!

I’m a mom of 2 fantastic daughters who love all kinds of dance so in my time off I can be found driving carpool to the dance academy! I also love to volunteer, working in my garden, traveling and working out.
Kelly Garrity, DNAP, CRNA
I have been providing anesthesia in Columbia, South Carolina, for over twelve years at a combined Level I Trauma Center and Children’s Hospital.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with a Master of Nurse Anesthesia in 2009. In 2020, I received a Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Texas Wesleyan University.

While I provide anesthesia for all ages and most specialties, my preferred area is pediatric ear, nose, and throat (ENT). Besides being an anesthesia provider, I also enjoy and find great satisfaction in being a clinical instructor to the nurse anesthesia residents that use our institution as their primary clinical site.
One of my favorite quotes is from Benjamin Franklin, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time hiking in the mountains and traveling with my husband and golden retriever.

Jordan Coleman, MNA, CRNA
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018. I have been working at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina since then. I have learned a lot and hope to continue learning over the years.

My lovely wife, Katie, put up with me through anesthesia school, and we now have a 2-year-old son and 9 month old daughter. Life is busy and lots of fun! I enjoy working out and taking naps whenever possible!
Annette N Storm, MNA, CRNA
Annette is originally from Denmark and moved to the US in 1990 to try out her nursing skills under a different umbrella. She never wanted to be retired, sitting in the proverbial rocking chair and wonder "what if." Annette is a go getter!

Annette graduated from anesthesia school in 2012 and joined Storm Anesthesia as an instructor in 2013. She has always had a passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge with others. Prior to anesthesia Annette was the educator in the cardiac catheterization laboratory for several years.

Annette is passionate about the EP lab and all the intricacies of electrophysiology. Her six years in the cath lab prior to anesthesia comes in very handy where she is now the liaison person between her anesthesia department and the cath lab.
